If you're familiar with the Adelaide hospitality scene then the Tropeano name is one that's probably familiar. The family are responsible for a string of great pubs in the West End. But don't think you've seen it all before: this latest venture is from the next generation of Tropeanos.
Channelling all things Gallic, the menu at D'artagnan is a thoroughly modern interpretation of classic Parisian bistro fare. Begin your meal with some artisan charcuterie (the San Daniele prosciutto is excellent) before moving onto the more substantial fare. Expect the characteristic indulgent essence of French cuisine to be present in flavour, without the accompanying heart-stopping calory count. The menu here has been designed with a subtlety and sensitivity that is a rarity in most approximations of Francophile food. This may be the first venture for the Tropeano children but it's definitely a welcome addition to the North Adelaide set.
