Take a seat on the shaded street terrace and feel the sea breeze race down Bay Street from the wind-swept boulevard in Port Melbourne. With its proximity to the ocean, it's a fine, summery substitute for Croatia's sizzling Dalmatian coast. Inside, the restaurant is decked out in raw wood, from its rustic floors to its steeple-framed awnings. Prepare to be wooed by Dalmatino's charming waiters from the minute of your arrival, and expect to want for nothing throughout the entire Adriatic-inspired meal.
You may notice that your chewing has slowed to a slight jaw movement on trying the zucchini filled with Swiss brown mushrooms and basil pesto - you'll want to savour its flavours much longer than you're supposed to. For something with a bit more guts, try the platter of Dalmatian prosciutto and smoked pork fillet or the handmade potato gnocchi with oxtail ragu. To finish off, Dalmatino does a Croatian version of the creme caramel entitled Dubrovnik rozada.

I've been to Dalmatino's many times for dinner since living in Port Melbourne. The food, wine, service and cosy, dimly lit atmosphere is always impressive. My partner and I enjoy coming here for a bottle of red and the most enjoyable beef cheeks i've ever eaten, I find it hard to order anything else as they are soooooooooo yummy and the fish stew is equally impressive. Guaranteed to be an enjoyable evening!

Great value
This unassuming restaurant with an industrial decor is great value for money. The gnocci I had (with truffle cream sauce) was perfectly made, soft with a bite to it, perfect. The bread is freshly baked and overall everything was lovely.

Wonderful
Dinner with friends where everyone's meals were equally fantastic, wonderful service and great atmosphere. Highly recommended for a somewhat different yet hearty menu. Antipasto is a must!

yummo
Amazing food at Dalmatino's and yes, you will be greeted by cute Croatian waiters. Having visited Croatia some time ago, this restaurant brought back the memories of a relaxed country with amazing, good-for-the-heart food. Loved it, be back again very soon, steaks are yummy.
