Lygon Street is not exactly a Middle Eastern mecca, but in a crowded marketplace of pasta and pizza parlours Cupido certainly stands out. On the lower end of Carlton, this double-level restaurant and bar offers classic Middle Eastern foods like pide, falafel, mixed grills and tabbouleh, and to complement them, a multitude of cocktails and shisha pipes. The Arabian nights here are more stylish than the norm, especially upstairs in the cushion lounge; bathed in pink and purple lighting, the crisp-white space features cosy lounges and a terrace courtyard looking out onto the trees outside. If that doesn't shake your belly, the belly dancers on Friday and Saturday nights will.

You can smell the flavours from lygon st
as we crossed the road to make our way to Cupido we can smell this great aroma of the shisha pipes as people were smoking them in the oudoor area. We made our way into the restaurant and the first thing that stood out was the huge chandeliers hanging from the high ceilings, and the fire place that made the restaurant so warm. Service was truely a middle eastern hospitality by nature as the staff did not leave our side. Food i would rate number 1, the mezze filled the table and our appetite till the combination of grills came out smelling and tasting so delecious. We sat back with a cup of lebanese coffee and sweets as we watch the belly dancing show. Great experience overall

Arabian nights
Such a warm and welcoming ambiance. Service was attentative and extremely friendly and the food was devine! Would definately recommend this restaurant to family and friends.

Great Flavours
The falafel was mouth watering, the meats left me licking my fingers.The service was very friendly as the staff explained to us what each dish is. When the belly dancers came out they had us up and dancing with them. Awsome experience
