A beloved eastern suburbs institution for more than 40 years, the Cosmopolitan Cafe returned onto the scene in early 2010 after a short break and a thorough refurbishment. Now, all spruced up with a flash modern dining room and piano bar that's the scene of weekly jazz performances, Cosmo is back in full force. Open early in the morning until, well, early in the morning, this buzzing cafe pulls out all kinds of culinary stops to make you stay for that much longer. There are share plates, soups, salads ("tossed to order" - no kidding), schnitzels, steaks, pastas, sandwiches, bagels, burgers, noodles, curries, strudels, pancakes, fresh cakes and gelati.
