Popular for business lunches, Cos offers an ambience of casual elegance, courtesy of its high-ceilinged, reno'ed heritage setting. The courtyard is a leafy, peaceful haven for a private meeting or a romantic midday rendezvous. Cos's simple bistro-style menu includes succulent steaks, oysters and crustaceans, but it is difficult to go past their signature caesar salads. This cafe classic comes with chicken, prawns or in strictly traditional style.

Not Happy - MOR
I was part of a Party of 8 which had made the booking based on personal recommendation. It was not a fully enjoyable experience. When we first arrived the table was wobbly and needed repairing. Then it was very difficult to get the waiters attention. The place was not that busy! 3 out of the 8 main courses where below par in that the meat was not cut-able (let alone chew-able) because of gristle. While I understand that sometimes a meal may not come out right, the difficulty presented itself when finally a complaint was made. All we got was a long and convoluted excuse. There was no apology or recompense of any kind. Absolutely no sympathy was evident and after much discussion only a free coffee was offered. Sorry COS Damage done, and we won t be returning.

Cos it's good
Service is a little patchy, sometimes really friendly other times a bit aloof and snooty. Our guest arrived ahead of us and there was mineral water, so not sure if this was the old 'upsell' on water which happens so often. The meals were nice, however the lamb was not hot. Food is certainly consistent since my first visit in their first week.

Probably the best steak we have in Adelaide. The service was excellent though a little slow at first. My husband & I eat out regularly but Cos was one of the best we have been to. We only had a main course but loved every mouthful. We highly recommend Cos especially if you love a great steak as we do.

Outstanding food
I've been to Cos twice and it was great on both visits. This little restaurant has great great food! The wagyu steak was juicy and cooked just right, and the chocolate dessert was fantastic. I've never tasted such mouth-watering dessert in my life. Its quite a small place, so even when its packed its not too overwhelming and noisy. I recommend this place to everyone and anyone. :)

Great food and wine
We live in England but whilst holidaying in Adelaide went to Cos, in January 2005, for two great meals. The service was excellent and we are looking to return to Adelaide in December 2006 and will definitely be going to Cos for another meal, or maybe two.
