This trendy hangout overlooking Fannie Bay's beach is famous for its weekend brunches, so don't be shy about booking to secure your table. The prices might strike some as steep (at least by Territory standards) but the food is reliable and delicious. The menu is comprehensive, ranging from your standard breakfast options to a healthy raw salad or, at the other end of the spectrum, a hearty hangover-curing steak burger and chips.
Cornucopia's breakfast options include the traditional choices of eggs Florentine and Benedict, but they also do a mean serving of crepes with fresh strawberries, while their thickly sliced raisin toast is to die for. If you're feeling like something a little more substantial than the regulation brunch fare, you won't be disappointed. Lunch dishes might include marinated lamb focaccia; chicken caesar burger; smoked salmon and snow pea salad; or barramundi and chips. The cafe's liquor license means your lunch can be washed down with a cold beer, and your brunch can be of the Champagne variety.
Located in the grounds of the Northern Territory Museum and Art Gallery, Cornucopia is surrounded by a lush space in which to wander and let your meal settle.

Running on the smell of a greasy rag....
Cornucopia is just surviving on the support of it's long-suffering loyal patrons (of which I am one) and walk-ins. And of course the ambience of the venue. This was always one of our favourite haunts, then something happenned. No longer is there any table service, the staff on duty are few, and running to meet the demands of a still popular dining spot. Now we line up like in Uncle Sam's to order and pay, wait for about half an hour for a glass of wine or beer, and feel reluctant to order another. The food is still good, but I think not quite as good. Dining at Cornucopia is stressful to say the least...
