Abysmal service and over-rated food
Extremely disappointing. The service was aweful. The staff were very rude. We felt like the staff were doing us a favour by allowing us to dine and spend money there. The food is definitely not good value and they get you with over-charging for sides. The langosh was good but that was about it.

Plenty of better places to go for the same budget.

Never going there again.

Pleasant surprise
Highly recommended!
The food is fantastic, almost as good as my mother will cook it back in Transylvania!
The only thing missing was a bit of Hungarian music in the backgound.
We will be back!

Long time since last visit
TS and I have been to this place once or twice but with an absence of a few years we were not sure what to expect.
The service was friendly and quick and the menu had a wide selection but we could not go past the goulash and the schnitzel - both very good but the goulash was the winner.

Big servings and great quality make it a good option for a European feed.

More than I expected
Invited by LD, a Polish friend, Dr Loz and I found ourselves in this great little place of some far-off delights. We started with cold cherry soup, cauliflower soup and mushroom pancake. LD was taken back to Poland in one mouthful of his cherry soup. “Much like the soup my mother and I would make,” he said. Dr Loz was impressed with his buttery and creamy cauliflower while I was desperate to learn the method of making the paprika sauce that covered my mushroom-filled pancake. Continuing with the paprika theme, LD thoroughly enjoyed his paprika fish. A traditional Hungarian beef goulash was a delight for Dr Loz. “The meat is perfect, it just falls apart in your mouth,” he exclaimed. I enjoyed a veal dish, pan-fried with potatoes and garlic. Definitely not for a weight watcher, but with a flavour that will stay in my memory for some time. More pancakes for dessert, both LD and I enjoyed a traditional pancake with walnut paste while Dr Loz navigated his way around a very large cherry strudel.
Service was attentive and functional. The crowd was a mix of locals, Hungarians and the odd blow-in, namely us.

A welcome change
Must be tried at least once, authentic European cuisine and an atmosphere to match. The veal pancakes are a must.
