Tucked away off Victoria Road (entry is via Formosa Street around the back), you wouldn't even know this funky, spacious spot with a lovely second floor terrace was here if it weren't for the locals whispering and spreading the word around Drummoyne. And thank goodness for word of mouth, because this place is one of the best new spots in the area.
The menu is full of cafe breakfasts and diner-style lunches put together by chef Brock Coffeey (ex-Rockpool), with modern takes on old favourites like the traditional English breakfast of bubble and squeak, done here with Barossa Valley speck (instead of roast pork or other meat), cabbage, peas, potato and toast, and of course, a fried egg. Or there's the house-made peaches and cream toasted muesli with almonds, oats, bran and sesame seeds served with mascarpone, or the baked eggs with fried potato, chorizo, chimichurri and toast.
For lunch, try the orecchiette with pork sausage, crushed peas and ricotta, or the karaage chicken burger with cabbage, kewpie and fries. Sit back in the sunshine on the terrace and soak up the food and the atmosphere.
