Newtown's pubs are famous for their high standards in pub fare, and the Cooper's Arms Hotel (or just the Cooper's) is no exception. The menu is not only diverse, it's interesting too. You'll find everything from Cooper's Ale-battered barramundi with fries, tartare sauce and lemon; to a seven-spiced soft shell crab on crispy noodle salad; to a Moroccan lamb pizza with tomato, spiced lamb, roasted red capsicum, onion, and cucumber and mint sauce.
The foodie fun starts in the upstairs bistro, either in the warmly candlelit indoor space, or the livelier beer garden. As if a flying saucer had landed through the roof, the open-air beer garden offers the ultimate summer experience (with plenty of surrounding tables under cover for wetter eves). It's all good at the Cooper's Arms ... but one question - who's Cooper?
