Offering predominantly North Italian-influenced, home-style food, Cook's Table is a welcome addition to the Cronulla scene for its simple, rustic pasta, seafood and meat dishes. Entrees like figs stuffed with blue cheese and wrapped in prosciutto, and herbed crab cakes served with tomato salsa sound hearty enough for a main course, but save room for the prawn and Balmain bug linguini tossed in white wine, chilli and garlic, or the crispy skin pork belly served with seared scallops and a beetroot, apple and goat's cheese salad. Understated decor, elegant surrounds and a cracking wine list are the perfect accompaniments and make this a rewarding and worthwhile trip to the shire for city slickers.
