Like a comfy slipper, Con's Seafood Restaurant offers a nurturing slice of good old-fashioned warmth, from its retro dining room and bar through to its hearty comfort food. A Mawson mainstay since the 1970s, and under new management in 2009, Con's continues to present fresh seafood favourites to hungry folk enamoured with Atlantic salmon cutlets, ocean perch fillets, whole lobster salads, and a whole host of market fresh fish and lobsters as daily specials. The red-padded bar area is on hand for any aperitifs, cocktails, beers, and wines you may desire.

Dinner at Cons
Although they don't have a tasting menu, we ordered the Seafood platter for two. This beat all Tasting Menus. It came in two layers--hot and cold--and was laden with a half fresh lobster, oysters, king prawns, mussels, Moreton Bay bug, blue swimmer crab, crumbed and deep fried prawn cutlets, barramundi pieces, calamari rings, scallops, served with cocktail and tartar sauces. I know all this because I asked to take away the menu. Afterwards, despite being totally full, we ordered freshly made chocolate mousse and Crepes Waldorf. We washed dessert down with a glass of the house sparkling. This place has apparently not changed its recipes since the 1970s. I hope it continues. I want to go back. It was a truly great eating experience. A friendly staff and a price within our budget.

Gladly surprised, go there for their steaks
We have moved to the south side not long ago and was trying to find a good place to dine. We went there on a Thursday night, not extremly busy say about 5,6 tables, the lady serving there was so nice, friendly and quick. More importantly, the food was amazingly good, the garlic prawn for entree was very tasty, for main, I order fillet mingnon medaium rare, my partner ordered carpet bag medium, it was absolutely delicious and really was something much better than we expected. Also, the crepe thingy we order as dessert was very good as well, definetely going back, very glad there's some place like this near Woden and not over price.
