This Harris Street cafe is always teeming with diners enjoying an early morning coffee or a lazy afternoon bite in the sunshine. The menu is a mix of sandwiches, salads and more substantial main meals. For something different, try the roast pumpkin and grilled haloumi salad with green beans, baby spinach, pine nuts and lemon mustard dressing.

how much?
Apparently the food is delicious. I will never find out for myself after paying $4 for a TINY croissant (to take away) that wasn't particularly good by a rude waiter. Other friends swear by the food and it's the cheapest nice coffee around.

Great local cafe for breakfast
With luck and exceptional timing we always manage to grab a seat for breakfast at Concrete in Pyrmont. This popular eatery has a great breakfast menu. The Classic breakfast is a tasty stack of poached eggs, sausages, bacon and roasted tomatoes and always hits the spot. Healthy options of yogurt, muesli and juices are also available for the waistline-conscious.
The service is always friendly and well-intentioned but can miss the mark sometimes. On our last visit plates were cleared as soon as each person finished rather than waiting for the whole table. The waitress reached across me to clear another diner's plate as I was about to put food in my mouth. Our whole table was shocked. If you can get past service that is a bit rough around the edges then you can enjoy the friendly and relaxed atmosphere and a tasty meal.
Avoid the pineapple and mint whip. Too much mint. Blergh. And beware weekend surcharges. A great place for breakfast though and one of our regulars when in Pyrmont.

Concrete
Great spot to sit back and watch the world go by. The food is innovative and while not a huge selection on the menu, every dish sounds tasty and the servings are plentiful. The service is friendly and efficient.
