While renovating this historical building in Bathurst, the owners stumbled upon an old convict-built well. Still amazingly solid, the old well became the centrepiece of the restaurant, and seemed to set the precedent for the restaurant's ambience. With good old-fashioned charm and quality, chef and owner Heath Smith presents a classy, modern Australian menu that has become popular with locals as well as those on the central west food and wine trail. The wine list is local-heavy and the meals are mostly made from local produce. Try the house made linguini in a buttery garlic, herb and chilli sauce with pan-fried prawns; or the roasted pork, glazed with Orange Mountain cider and served on celeriac puree and vegetables.

Wonderful
This is my favourite Bathurst restaurant and it is easily the cities premier dining venue - in terms of quality and consistency of product and service. I have been enjoying dining at Cobblestone for over two years and I have never had a disappointing visit.
I was there recently with my husband to celebrate his birthday. I had the most exquisite chicken dish - melt in your mouth tender and served with a sensational red currant jus. Hubby had the sucking pork which he raved over. We shared a dessert tasting plate. The 'tastes' were very generous and all beautifully flavoured and expertly executed.
The menu changes from time to time - so there is always something new and exciting to try. I can't wait for my next visit !

Memorable dining experience
Coming from the Central West, I've had the pleasure of dining at several local restaurants and this is the absolute best in Bathurst. The chef celebrates local produce by allowing their fresh flavours to stand out in every dish I tasted (and I made sure I tasted everyone's at my table!) Although the room did get a little noisy it just added to the atmosphere in what is an amazing building. I'd love to know more about its history but was too busy eating to find out. The staff were wonderful as the chef worked his magic in the kitchen. Thanks for a great night out!

The best in the west??
Wow, what a wonderful evening we had while visiting Bathurst recently, and all thanks to Cobblestone Lane. The food wonderful - I was blown away by the roasted pork, glazed with Orange Mountain cider and served with potato and apple while my wife raved about the berry & citrus terrine, and our charming waiter was a gracious host. The history of the historic building monopolised our conversation. It's easy to see why this restaurant has become popular with locals as well visitors such as us.
