With knick-knacks everywhere and old-school pushbikes on the walls above the diners, this chalkboard-menu cafe has managed the perfect blend of tasty food and shabby-chic design. Owner Adriano Matteoni has opened a dozen cafes around the Inner West (Clover is the latest), and each time manages to make it quirky and individual enough to be inviting and comfortable. His success is almost formulaic; if only you could figure out what that formula was.
The menu is well-rounded and offers just the right mix of familiarity and flare, with classic breakfast dishes receiving a Mediterranean twist. The freshly-squeezed juices are a particularly good bargain as well.
