You don't need glamour to cause a crowd to queue; these ones come to sample delicious claypots of flavoursome seafood. Not your average restaurant, Claypots is all about whatever fresh seafood is in season, cooked in a pot - a claypot, that is. Don't bother asking about the catch of the day because everything here is sourced fresh in the morning. The chef comes up with all sorts of ideas for flavouring these warming dishes, with inspiration coming from Moroccan, Indian or Chinese cuisine.

A real Gem
Had heard lots about this place from friends and meant to go many times in the past, anyway finally got there, arrived at around 7 which was early for us but not alas for Claypots!! The fish selection was already dwindling and the place packed to the rafters. The food we had was amazingly cooked and the service friendly. The atmosphere in the place is reminiscent of a Sunday lunch at the beach on the mediterannean; loud, happy and buzzing. I loved it, loved it, loved it and will go back many times i am certain. My advice is to get there for the doors opening in order to get the full choice of the days catch but whatever time you arrive you are sure of a memorable time.

Excellent seafood restaurant
Excellent Seafood Restaurant with amazing flavour's reallly mouth watering stuff, you really would love to try everthing they have on the menu. I kid you not. A real laid back style atmosphere, but who care's the food makes up for it. I would recommend it to any seafood lovers. I moved over to perth and when I'm in Melbourne I head for my claypot fix. I wish they had one over here.

Great place
One of the few restaurants where I have actually wanted to eat every dish on the menu. This is a seafood lovers paradise, no frills but delivered very well with superb ingredients, simplicity and delightful Asian flavours across a menu which changes daily.

Something different.
When in Melbourne for business, I caught up with an old school friend for dinner; being the local, I let him decide where to eat. We grabed a couple of beers from the bottle shop next door and ventured into the Claypot.
We were greeted and seated outdoors in a 5 star manner, help was offered in our dinner selection, the food was fresh and delicious. Even though the setting is slightly modest, the food and service over compensates. I have reccomended the Claypot to all I know as a hidden gem.
