Throwing your hat in the ring on the already crowded Beaufort Street is asking for heavy competition. Luckily, this new bar and restaurant seems up to the task. With subtle touches and minimalist decor, the new owners of this space have transformed the previously raucous Richie's Restaurant into a chic establishment.
Attracting the right crowd is one of the toughest tasks a new restaurant faces, but with simple high-end tapas and a suitably mature wine and cocktail list, this place has managed to find its niche.

Regrettable
I booked for 9 for my bday but was told that our table would be in the bar. When i asked whether it would be too noisy and in amongst the bar-goers I was told "no it'll be great". Unfortunately when we arrived to a busy night we were smack bang in the bar and there were people sitting on our reserved table. We stood there while they were moved on and then spent the night shouting at each other and not being able to hear a thing. We had to get up and catch staff to get orders taken and then clear our own plates and drinks to make room on our narrow table. I was extremely disappointed in the lack of service and at being misled despite specific questioning about noise and position. Food was ok but by the time it all came (one small plate at a time with 10 minute breaks) we were all so over it. Then they overcharged us! If there's more than 4 of you I advise going elsewhere.

Great night!
Catch up with the girls over dinner on a rainy night. Lovely and cosy, but still modern feel. Nice mood lighting (everyone looks better in the dark!) Only whinge was that we were not advised we would be sitting on stools which was awkward and quite uncomfortable for the two prgnant ladies! Share/ tapas style dishes- we ordered just about everything on the menu between us. Was a fun and social way to eat. Favourite for me was the garlic prawn risotto- fantastic. We ordered a second round of that dish. Pork belly was a big hit, although I found it a tad dry. Whitebait, and the chips were tasty and crisp. Found the sausages a bit odd- couldn't quite work out the flavours! Lamb was lovely and succulent. Scallops were delicious but disappointed to only have 4 small ones on the dish. Overall food was really great. We were asked if we wanted dishes served as they were ready, which worked well for our chatty table. Waitress was great- on the ball and not intrusive or over-familiar. We will definitely be back.
