Early risers, midnight munchers and daytime diners congregate for many a thrill at this popular harbour-side restaurant that's open a phenomenal 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. City Extra Circular Quay's flexibility extends from its trading hour stamina through to its edible offerings. Breakfasts, lunches, dinners, desserts and drinks are available for affordable prices not easily found in the notorious tourist-trap Quay.
The menu sticks with the restaurant's "extra extra, read all about it!" newspaper theme, displaying the list of freshly cooked soups, pastas, crepes, salads, grills and seafood in newspaper font with "hot off the press" specials. Glossy newspaper prints cover the walls, so you'd be right at home picking up a paper while sipping a latte and buttering a croissant, though free wireless internet access is also available with any purchase. Large groups can also take advantage of special menus, with ample room inside and outside. But who would pass up an outdoor seat with views of the Harbour Bridge and the Opera House?

Great for Families
I thought this was place the bees knees when I was a kid. I'd order a big ice chocolate and chicken schnitzel, or fish and chips which came in a basket. If you sit up top the view is amazing, looking out across Sydney harbour. Big 'newspaper' menu, very affordable, typical bistro style food. I wouldn't recommend it for top restaurant connoisseurs but if you've spent the day in the city with your kids, or you need a special place for a kids celebration go here. Open all night, I believe. And the toilets are great, with old school newspaper comics on the door.
