Green-thumbed visitors might find that their own work compares badly to the miniature Zen garden at Citi Zen, but then, the latter benefits from the sleek backdrop of this elegant restaurant. A little way back from the main Chinatown streets, the restaurant opts for white linen, subdued colours and sculptures (including an intricate Chinese junk boat) over the more casual decor of many of its contemporaries. The menu is predominantly Chinese, with a few pan-Asian flavours thrown in for good measure. Yum cha is available throughout the week, but for those wanting the distinctive joy of browsing the carts, the trolleys only come out on weekends

One of the best yum cha venues
Been here dozens of times. Food is always very nice and tasty. Conveniant parking and a massive restaurant - you are better off trying to go here for yum cha than somewhere on Gouger Street if you want a table! They don't pack you in like sardines with dodgey tables and chairs in the corner here either - this happens in many other smaller yum cha places. Service is great, you can always grab someone's attention and they are willing to get you anything you wish - a glass of water or some chilli sauce with a smile on their face. Carts come around regularly but can be a bit slow but you can always order what you want if you're not keen on waiting a bit! Remains my favourite place for yum cha and probably will for years to come!

Excellent Chinese Food
This restaurant is always very busy and as a consequence service can at times be slow.
However I still keep coming back as the food is truly exceptional with a strong emphasis on fresh ingredients and traditional flavours. This is not your old Aussie Chinese restaurant with stodgy MSG-filled food. This is the real thing.
Live lobsters, giant crabs and live barramundi feature as the epitomy of fresh seafood (at a price though!)
The crispy duck is my absolute favourite, this is not just a peking duck but rather a fried duck so you have the crisp skin, the moist flesh and the accompanying Chinese pancakes and greens to go with it... YUM!

Top-notch
Dined here with three other diners on a Sunday night - place was packed (recommend booking ahead). Sensational food with plenty of vegetarian options. My vegie hot pot was not as liquidy as I like - however was still very tasty. Waiting staff were brilliant.
Very affordable quality dining. Highly recommended.

What a delight!
Citi Zen is an excellent place to dine at. The food is well prepared and is of top quality. One of my favourite dishes is the Peking Duck. The skin of the duck is so fresh and crisp and the bread base is heated throughout your meal so it does not go cold. The service is very reliable and the waiters are very polite. The layout of the restaurant creates a refreshing atmosphere to enjoy the food and allow you to sit comfortably. Now with the addition of yum cha, there is all the more reason to drive there and eat yum cha for lunch. It creates a very Oriental feel.I would most certainly recommend this restaurant to everyone!

Recently started doing Sunday yum cha at brunch/lunchtime. Would definitely recommend! You can ask for pretty much anything. Very attentive service. A wonderful new addition to the yum cha scene.
