However, for those night owls out there, the sharp wine list and a selection of unpretentious Italian food might just be enough to convince you to bid the day farewell with a meal and a tipple at Ciao Cielo instead.

Say hello to Ciao Cielo
Our first visit to Ciao Cielo coincided with the launch of their summer menu and what a way to celebrate the arrival of summer. I'm not a fan of arancini but I had heard that the duck arancini balls, served with a spiced orange aioli was their signature dish and this was like no other arancini. The balls just burst with flavour and the flavours complemented each other so cleverly. And if you can find me better home-made pasta in Melbourne then please let me know. The Beetroot and Ricotta Ravioli, served with Moreton Bay Bug Tails, was simply exceptional. Our hostess, Kate, was chummy and totally professional - we felt like we were eating with old friends. This is the type of restaurant Melbourne should be proud of, not just the flashy CBD fly-by-nights.
