Only the most ardent of dieters could avoid the sinfully salacious splurging sessions so many people love to have at this popular chocolate cafe. The Carlton branch of Chocolateria San Churro, a fast-growing cafe chain across Australia, follows the path of a centuries-old tradition started by a Spanish monk named San Churro, who cannily uncovered the healing powers of chocolate (thank you, Mr San Churro). Now, sugar fiends can dip churros, or traditional Spanish doughnuts, into melted chocolate until the cows come home. For winter, San Churro even offers a range of hearty truffles to fight away the cold, such as the Azteca, a dark chocolate and chilli concoction.
