Set amid the hustle and bustle of Chinatown, the Chinese Cultural Club pulses with a frenzied vibe seven days a week. The sound of clattering plates, rattling yum cha trolleys and energetic chatter greets diners as they draw near the entrance and step inside. Here, jumbled tables and chairs litter the room, which is festooned with traditional artwork and the odd bit of tinsel slung from the ceiling overhead. With bold RSL-style carpet, the setting is bright and brassy - but don't let this turn you off.
The Cultural Club speaks through its food. Every day of the week, the restaurant overflows with diners enjoying lunchtime yum cha. Waitresses with metal trolleys weave their way in and out of the tightly packed tables, serving up plates of dumplings, spring rolls, dim sims or - for those who are game - chicken feet. Dinner is served Wednesday to Sunday, with a well-priced menu offering a selection of noodle, meat and seafood dishes. Try the spare ribs with imperial sauce, or the salt and pepper king prawns. A club licence means diners can finish off their meal with a cheap bevvie from the bar.

Cheap good food in Chinatown
The fact that CCC is packed to the rafters with Chinese people almost every day is probably the best recommendation that this great eatery can have.
Membership is $2 which entitles one to a discount on the already low prices for drinks and food.
Salt and pepper anything is some of the best in Chinatown.
