Cantonese-style Chinese dishes in elegant surrounds, with live music on Friday and Saturday evenings. A banquet menu is available, as is a private room. Even the fried rice is brilliant at Chine on Paramount: it's flecked with just cooked egg white and dried scallops. The wine list has earned the restaurant accolades, and there are often wine-matching dinners to look out for. Chinese medicinal herbs play a role in the cooking here so you can always justify the visit because it will be doing you good!

Great dining experience
I tried Chine on the recommendation of a friend and it was a wonderful dining experience.
The decor and the atmosphere was very pleasing. Not too noisy so dinner conversation was easily heard. The service was exceptional. The staff are very helpful and very knowledgeable about the dishes they serve.
Admittedly the time between ordering and being served the dishes is a little long however when you taste the food it is certainly worth the wait. Each dish was superb, very well balanced in terms of flavor as well as healthy (not oily, fatty or salty as some cheaper restaurants)
Meal sizes were large enough for us to share and particular compliments to the following dishes:

Average
The food seemed quite good, but the servings were a little on the small side and very overpriced. However, the service was good and the staff were happy to answer any questions we had about different dishes. The decor seemed a little out of place for a Chinese restaurant and the lighting seemed unusually dim.

Food court Chinese
I was amazingly disappointed with Chine. Four people paid $150 for the equivalent of a food court meal. Our food was completely flavourless and even when we specifically asked for a spicy dish, they served us a satay, a very bland satay. The service was not bad, although it was a bit overbearing. All in all the service was adequate and the staff seemed eager to please but the chef let us all down. I would not ever go back to Chine on Paramount and would discourage anyone I know from spending money on food at Chine they could get at any local food court for $10.

An enjoyable location to eat dinner
I had dinner with a small group of friends after work yesterday at Chine and found it to be a wonderful place to eat dinner.
Their menu is broad and the atmosphere is good, as it was not too crowded.

Disappointed
I read so many good feedback for this restaurant so I chose it for my birthday dinner. The dishes are all right but not worth for money at all, as they are costly. I mean with those price list we'd expect a better taste. We also disappointed to see a whole Peking duck was only served as 12 small portions... was it only a duckling? It's not a good impression for my friends at all. We really wonder if we'll ever return.

Chine Shines!
We have had the $88 six-course degustation menu twice and both times it was absolutely amazing. Top service and top food. Happy to recommend Chine on Paramount.
