Owned by the same people behind the Chillipadi pan-Asian restaurants across Melbourne, this hole-in-the-wall inner city eatery takes a different focus: fast, tasty and good-value Indian cuisine. All of the fan favourites are here: beef vindaloo, butter chicken, chickpea masala, tandoori king prawns - the list goes on. Specials include an aromatic Hyderabadi-style biryani and saag curries available in chicken, lamb and beef varieties. While mostly a takeaway spot, Chilli Express India has a bunch of tables inside and outside for those quick lunches or casual nights out.
