Serving great pizza since 1972, Chelsea Pizza Co has attracted quite a following in Nedlands. Located in the Chelsea Village Centre, this mainstay specialises in gourmet goodies served on traditional, yeast-free thin bases. Have a classic Hawaiian, featuring shaved leg ham and pineapple, or chomp into a Chelsea, a mix of prawns, bacon and onions. More international fare can be savoured in the gourmet options, which include Thai chicken, Tandoori chicken and Greek pizzas, to name but a few. The large dining space suits big groups, though you can also have a pizza party in your own home, with home delivery and takeaway options available.

My second most visited pizza restaurant
Since starting university quite a while ago and now working nearby, Chelsea Pizza has been a favourite of mine - only my local pizza shop gets more of my money.
Their gourmet pizza is excellent - thin base with reasonable toppings. A winner for me is that when you take it away in a box and you'll notice there's very little (if any) oil on the cardboard when you're done! I'd definitely recommend their tandoori chicken pizza or for the less adventurous, the hawaiian is usually well received. Service has always been slowish and I agree with other reviewers that the people making the pizza can be abrasive when busy. Nice semi-rustic appearance in the dining area, but I've always wondered if a coat of paint in one particular corner of the room would really take that much out of their profits.
Definitely recommended for a casual get-together or take-home meal!

Chelsea Pizza
I've been coming to Chelsea for years now and I would rate their pizza as being the best in Perth. They've been around for years as I'm sure many of you would know, and some may remember when there used to be a pub up above.
The store is always very busy, but I have always found the staff to be friendly and the service in the restaurant to be good. The restaurant is family friendly and I usually take my children up to the making bench to watch the pizzas being made before we eat, it s a real treat for them and me too, the pizza makers are very fast and it s definitely worth watching.
Chelsea have about two dozen pizzas on the menu and also have children's meals, pastas and sides. I usually order the Nog pizza with mushrooms, bacon and pepperoni but there is a lot of great pizzas to choose from.
The restaurant is quite old and probably could do with a make over. There is a section of the restaurant that is being refurbished, so perhaps they have plans to refurbish soon. Either way, as it is it is still a good place to take the family or meet up with friends for a casual dinner.
If you haven't tried Chelsea Pizza you MUST, they are a favorite of mine and many friends also, definitely worth a visit.

After I visited Chelsea pizza in Nedlands for the first time this week I was left shocked by the appalling customer service I received.
The man making pizzas behind the counter was rude to customers who were inquiring on late orders, and the staff treated customers as though they were inconvenience.
The menu was very limited and the pizza I received (late) was undercooked.
The decor of the restaurant seemed dated and untidy, with dirty tiles and bland tables and orange painted walls.
Even though I live nearby, I do not think I will be returning voluntarily.
(one compliment is that the garlic bread was very good, although it took a long time to arrive)

I used to come to this restaurant at least once a fortnight, however the past couple of times I have been there the service has been notably poor. After one bad experience, I returned again recently and nothing much had changed.
After finding our seats, it took an incredibly long time to be served. After ordering pizzas and chips we were given plates that were very poorly cleaned, and we had to go up to the counter to remind them of our drinks order. 20 minutes after the pizza's arrived, we still hadn't been served the chips (despite several reminders) and we were finally given our chips as we were going up to pay the bill.
The food was reasonably good, however I would definitely not say it is anything special.
The service was so shockingly bad that I will definitely not be returning (despite being a regular customer since it opened years ago). Some members of staff seemed to lack basic social skills and manners. However, we did have one nice waitress who seemed overwhelmed as the restaurant was understaffed.
The atmosphere is again very average, and was lacking on this particular visit when there were sections of the tiled floor that were covered in spilt food. It should also be noted that the bathroom was very unclean and the tap was not working properly.

Yeast-free bases
Chelsea doesn't use yeast in their bases. This is fantastic for those of us who have a problem with it!

Gourmet Pizza
Their wood-fired gourmet pizzas are absolutely AMAZING - I will happily drive half way across Perth to eat there. The food is never disappointing - I love taking people there for their first time. Highly recommended: go there, try it, love it.
