Reasonable Wood Fired Pizza
Pizza is a universal favourite and this was the third wood fired pizza I ve tried. Their pizzas were quite tasty but the offerings at other establishments are better, especially considering comparing price. While the pizzas had a lovely wood fired smoked flavour with an adequate cover of toppings, the flavour balance isn t quite right between all three varieties that I tried (the Johnny Cash, Prawn Star, and three little piggies). They don t just do wood fired pizzas so check out their other offerings at their website. We had seats outside and while there was shade it was very hot. They do have a squirt of mist from the vines that hang overhead down the middle of the outdoor area but they need to squirt far more often to add relief from the hot sun.

Terrible service and average food
The Windsor has a great set up with heaps of potential but what a let down! We didn't have a reservation which in the end didn't matter - the indoor area was only a third full. After looking a bit lost, we managed to flag down a waitperson who told us we could have our pick of the tables indoors if we couldn't find anything outdoors. We settled on a table (which wasn't set) and waited. And waited. And waited some more. After 10 minutes of being ignored, my husband grabbed some menus. That didn't help so I started waving for service (the odd hand up as a waitperson passed and then waving a bit like a crazy woman when we continued to go unnoticed). 15 minutes and finally, we were noticed and a bottle of water arrived plus a drinks menu (to go with the food menus my husband had sourced himself). The service was friendly enough once we got it. Okay, now to the food (sorry about the rant but I hate poor service). We ordered the steak sandwich with chips. Not terrible but not great either. The steak was thin and dry (especially for sirloin) and the bread even thinner and drier! The burger was probably better than average but it wasn't that great. The drinks were pricey too. $10.80 for a glass of Stella Bella sav blanc. Ouch! I won't be returning which is a pity - the outdoor area is lovely (timber decking and water fountains) and I would have given more stars for the atmosphere but for the bad start with the sloppy service and the average food.

Too loud!
Absolutely and utterly horrible dining experience - will not come back to eat, place suited more for drinks. The dining area is a large open space and so the din of the chatter, blaring music from the outdoor pub area, and chaos of foot traffic constantly wandering in and out the restaurant to get to the bar, makes for a nightmare noise, we were unable to hear the person next to us. In my opinion they should do something to separate the dining areas from the pub/bar, it's a really unpleasant dining experience trying to eat as hordes of people wander back and forth past you. Food is average at best. Service poor. We had to wander over and ask the girls to place orders/get drinks. All in all, I may be back for a beer and nothing more.

Great Bar
I've had lunch at the Windsor Hotel 5-6 times. Most times it has been average but the last time was terrible, my mushrooms and potato were not even luke warm.
I will go to the Windsor again but just because it's convenient. This time I may not be so polite when handed a less than mediocre meal.
