Chalisa

Proving you don't have to travel to northern India for a traditional tandoori, this eatery has enough variety to get tongues burning. With main meal prices starting at just $7.95, your wallet won't follow suit. Despite its earthy service and menu, the restaurant's decor has an interesting Eastern/art deco twist, with lime green walls, black chairs and sparse Indian art pieces along the walls. It's an ideal combination of casual dining with an international edge.

Love the dhal
I've tried most of the menu and while the chicken korma and saag panir are really yummy, I just can't go past the dhal (with naan of course!).

Best butter chicken!
The best butter chicken in Canberra. The only bad thing about is that once you have, all else fails in comparison.

We waited for this?
Unfortunately, we must have caught this restaurant on a bad night. The service was poor, as we were forgotten while other couples (who came in after us) were served and we were left waiting. The food we ordered was far too salty - so much so that any possible flavour was reduced.
