A great find...
This place is amazing. First you have to find it. We missed it the first time and, as Kent Street is one way and there are some no left turns, had to go right around a few blocks to get back. Try to look for a red awning, but it is blocked by a tree, or just park somewhere between King and Market or in a nearby parking station (warning expensive parking around here).

Once you make it inside it is very professional. Everyone is greeted, booking checked, and seated by a manager. Then menus and wine list appear. Service was perfect throughout the meal. I recommend the chef's degustation menus at dinner. For $44 (four courses) to $88 (eight courses) they are great value. It is obvious that everything is cooked to order. All our dishes were wonderful, with full interesting flavours. Nothing too out of the ordinary or spectacular on the a la carte menu (I would suggest that the restaurant update this menu), but the degustation menus brought out the best of the chef. We found even the coffee to be excellent and so nice that my partner had two cups after dinner.

Lunches are more focused on pastas and simpler dishes that can be prepared in less time. And I have returned for lunch here twice so far. On my first lunch visit I noticed that the air conditioning was being worked on, and parts of the walls or something were removed. However, on my next lunch visit everything was back to normal, and cooler. At lunch there is a Quick Pasta menu with salad for $15. The pastas we had were perfectly al dente and the sauces seem to change daily. There is also an a la carte menu at lunch which is slightly different to the dinner a la carte, and a $30 menu with wine and (I can't remember) three courses?

Strangely, on our three visits, this place was either very quiet with few customers, or very busy. If it is not busy, or you book, ask for a table next to the windows that look out over Kent Street. Anyway all up this would have to be the best value fine dining restaurant we have ever been to anywhere in the world. We will keep returning.
