Casa Farro

Like taking a Roman holiday (without the Trevi Fountain), this Carlton establishment takes a traditional approach with its wood oven pizzas, made using rustic toppings. Open Tuesdays to Sundays for eat-in and takeaway dinners, and on Sundays for leisurely lunches, Casa Farro's many freshly made dishes include the Paesan pizza with Napoli sauce, mozzarella, basil, hot salami, bocconcini and chilli, and the risotto with pork and fennel sausage, broccoli and sundried black olives - and all their pastas and risottos can be made with spelt pasta, if need be. Add an Italian beer or wine into the mix, and you have an Italiano experience in a nutshell.

We keep coming back...
My partner & I have visited Casa Farro on numerous occasions. My partner is Italian and always in search of authentic italian food and pizza. The pizza at Farro is a delight. The pastry is super thin & crusty & the toppings are not overdone - proprio all'italiana! The spelt flour pizza's doesn't vary much in taste from ordinary flour so don't be concerned about tryig it out. The assagini platter is filling and interesting. The cherries covered in toffee are to die for. They have many other dishes on offer as well and they produce is fresh. We did have one bad dessert experience once which was immediately rectified & we were not charged for it. The staff are helpful, polite & efficient & the owner takes great care to ensure his guests are enjoying their meal. They are also more than accomodating after we ended up there one night when another restaurant who had taken our booking had given away our table. The place is genuine and the people unpretentious & they actually care about their clients and coming up with authentic dishes that are not on offer elsewhere.
