Carlyle's recalls restaurant dining of yesteryear. The hushed dining room has wood panelling and dark red carpet, and the waiters are attentive and discrete.

Another good one in the 'burbs
My friend and I had been meaning to do this for ages, so when everywhere else we could think of was booked out, we headed off to Carlyle's... It was all really very nice, the staff were friendly and informative.
That said, the decor is very dated and the part of the restaurant we were seated in was tight, however, it was nice to sit down to crisp, clean linen all the same..
The food was excellent, I had the mushroon entree (which I understand is their signature dish) which was tasty; and my friend had salt and pepper calamari which was melt-in-your-mouth tender. Mains were the duck for me which was beautiful: tender and moist and it had not been over-cooked; and my partner ordered pork which was also well presented quite lush.
The serving sizes are very generous, if you are really hungry (we were) you'll love this place.

Good little suburban offering - but not cheap
My husband and I walked up the road for dinner at Carlyle's which we'd been eyeing off for sometime. The food was hard to fault - all handmade on the premises (including the icecream, stock and sauces). Great venue for any coeliac's looking for a night out - almost everything was coeliac compatible.
The decor is a shocker though - the place really needs a facelift.
