If an eatery can somehow manage to be contemporary and organic at the same time, then Cantina 663 has got it nailed. Located smack bang in the centre of uber-trendy Beaufort Street, it houses a clientele that is both hippy and high-brow with equal aplomb. Meaning 'wine cellar' in Italian, Cantina is neither restaurant nor cafe nor tapas bar exactly, although it melds fresh, Italian-themed food with Spanish and Italian wines. The wine list is virtually devoid of traditional pinot noirs and chardonnays, instead opting to introduce a range of Italian grape varieties to its patrons.
The menu is select and rewritten twice weekly, with inspiration stemming from ingredients that are at their seasonal best. Everything is produced in-house, bar the wonderful homemade nougat that is lovingly manufactured by local pastry whiz Rochelle Adonis. Freshness never tasted so good.

Favourite!
Considering how hard it seems to be to find a consitently decent restaurant in Perth at the moment, this place always delivers. Good food that always changes, great service, love sitting in the little alfresco area outside. A little pricey, but worth it.
I recommend it to all my friends!

Great
Excellent food, a tiny bit overpriced, excellent wine list with spanish wines matching the meals perfectly. Friendly service, BYO available once a week, relaxed atmosphere... Keep up the good work, we'll be back !

Cantina, I loved it
Just read the review below and I don't know if I actually went to the same Cantina as adamsmith100. I ate there last night and the service was impeccable, friendly, informative and extremely prompt. The food was fantastic, although the outside of my veal was a little tough and chewy, the inside was lovely. My friend loved the parpadelle and the chocolate pudding was to die for. Incedible wine list too, very innovative. We'll be back.

Cantina never again
Cantina? What an absolute joke! I have never waited over an hour for entree and then another 45 minutes for mains that tasted like absolute mud. Me and a group of friends chose to dine at Cantina due to positive media reports stating great food great service. Are you serious?? Service? Terrible. Food? Terrible. Atmosphere? Very cheap. Visit again? Never!
