Mix mama's recipes with high-quality gourmet Italian favourites and you've got the gist of Candelori's in Smithfield. Whether you're gnawing for gnocchi or anticipating an antipasto board for two, this a la carte Italian restaurant opens the pantry doors wide open with a large menu of pizzas, pastas, risottos, seafood, sizzling hot pots and grilled meats and specialities. While the freshly made Neapolitan woodfired pizzas take centre stage, there's no need to neglect the entrees, which include marinated white anchovies and sardines or the crumbed stuffed green olives with goat's cheese. For the brave and the hungry, the lobster, scampi or T-bone should do the trick. Watch the blackboard specials for further surprises.

Impeccable!
Went here last night for the first time even though I live in the area and have been meaning to go there for years. Anyway, my girlfriend and I ordered mussels with vongole and garlic prawns for starters with a cheesy garlic bread, very nice.
For mains we had whole quail and lobster, prawn and crab meat ravioli with a greek side salad. Overall the food was superb and very filling, we may have ordered too much as no room for dessert, pity, would have loved a dessert !LOL The staff and service was excellent, no complaints. The restaurant decor is beautiful and very cosy even though it is a large area. Will definitely go back and of course leave room for dessert!

thoroughly enjoyable
dined here for my anniversary and thought the food, service and staff were excellent. It's not very often I will order entree, main and dessert but couldn't resist after seeing the menu. I would recommend Candeloris to anyone who want to have a enjoyable evening without being rushed out the door just because they are busy.

Superb
It's always such a delight when you find a place like Candelori's nestled away in a hidden, unassuming pocket of Sydney. This place is incredibly good - impeccable service even with a full house & bustling atmosphere; extensive - almost gargantuan - menu with a long list of authentic Italian treasures like spaghetti alla chitarra, lobster ravioli, napolitan-style pizza and even sizzling seafood served in iron pots; all topped off with a simple, inviting decor that really reinforces why this classy joint is so popular.
One wonders why local surrounding residents would ever need to travel closer to the city to enjoy a superb dining experience when you can have it all...and more...in your own neck of the woods.
Candelori's is highly recommended! Make sure you book because it can be extremely busy on weekends.

Good but pricey
The food here is excellent, the best pizza I have ever had!! My friends tried the pasta and I had the pork which was quite nice too. But the jelly dessert was $15 and it felt like it was little bigger than the size of the jelly cups you get at the supermarket and it wasn't that good, I didn't know they added alcohol to it.
Service was always friendly but our desserts did take a while to come out. Value is hard to rate because it was expensive but the food was good, I spent over $60 for myself, that's not cheap!! The place was almost full for a friday night and I can see why. The food is excellent but the problem is it's pricey!!

Disappointing
I have now been to this restaurant twice now and will not recommend this place to anyone. Being seated where there are functions is disgraceful. We were ignored and served over our heads. It was loud and very unpleasant. Then I returned as a function. We had two tables. One had their orders taken and meals served before the other table placed their orders. The 2 tables were together and believe we should have all been treated as such. Meals were wrongly delivered and the crispelle tasked like it had just come out of the fridge. To be charged $28 to cut and serve a cake we had brought in as a surprise for someone was unbelievable. I understand that you are always busy, but it only takes a few silly errors and poor service to have business suffer. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant if you want a quiet night. It is loud and meals are served too quickly.

Great
Everything was great. From the pasta, to the pizza to the fresh seafood - what more could you want? The best in the west, that's for sure.

Hmm
This was the first time I've been to this restaurant. Maybe it was the public holiday but the service was very average! The food was ok. The portions were pretty big. But the quality was poor. So if you like quantity over quality then this might be your restaurant but if you like quality over quantity then this place is not recommended. Also the price of what you get is poor. $5 for an "orange juice" which is water mixed with with bad orange cordial! The food was average at best for those sort of prices. The gnocchi was like the ones in the supermarkets (not the good ones either).
