There's something about bookstore cafes - you simply can't help feeling slightly more sophisticated after dining at one. Maybe it's the wealth of knowledge adorning the shelves. Or maybe it has a little to do with the fact they feel so incredibly European and everybody knows if it's European it has to be sophisticated, right?
Caffe Libra takes a dash of that bookish erudition, adds a cutely kitsch space with a vibrant interior and some literarily titled food selections to create a pleasant cafe dining experience. Visitors are even permitted to inject a dash of creativity into their lunchtime languor by inventing and titling their own sandwich combination, made to order.
If the idea of a traditional caesar or antipasto platter doesn't tickle your fancy, you can always sit back with a cup of Merlo coffee and one of their homemade cakes or biscuits and pore over a new novel. The prices won't exactly make the meal a steal but the generous portions mean you will walk out the door feeling well satisfied.
