Don't Bother
With so many other places to choose from in such a great area I really wouldn't bother. We received luke warm drinks and cakes that we couldn't eat. The service was by far the worst I have ever received in Brisbane. Don't waste your time!

Sunday lunch
First impressions: The tables were not wiped down and all available tables had crumbs left on them. We sat ourselves at the cleanest table and after awhile we ventured to locate a menu ourselves.

The drinks: I ordered a strawberry milkshake, which was nice, however, I was too put off by the coffee smears and coffee grains sprinkled all over my glass to have confidence in what I was drinking.

The food: I ordered the pumpkin, bacon, baby spinach and shallot pasta with a creamy white wine sauce. What I got was creamy tomato sauce with a main ingredient of oil, and the majority of the bacon was actually fat. Other menu items looked somewhat more successful though.

The Staff: friendly.

However, I'm all for the second chance and I would be interested in trying the cafe at breakfast and dinner before I completely write this off as a thumbsdown.

Great value for money
We had lunch there on a Saturday, the menu selection was good, being vegetarian there aren't always a lot of options. The waitress didn't bat an eyelid when I requested the eggs Benedict without the ham or salmon, & even better I received what I ordered. The serving was large & tasty. They make great chips and everyone enjoyed there meal. The coffee is also good.

Superb dinner
I have been a big fan of Caffe E since residing in Paddington. Upon relocating out of paddo though, one of the things I have dearly missed, is the steaks at Caffe E. Dinner had never been disappointing. The steaks, the pasta, the caesar salad! yummmmmm!

The only thing I wouldn't rate is the service. There's perhaps only one waitress who knows her job and knows it well! The younger waitresses make you wait for ages to be served and unfortunately lack the alertness most experienced waitstaff have. Why oh why, would you take a bottle of red wine away to be opened when the glasses are at the table? Why, after taking one table's order do you not quickly glance around to see if another table awaits service? Sigh....

If there was one thing worth investing in, it's yet ANOTHER experienced waitstaff... apart from that, I'd keep going back for the food!

Best Caffe/Restraunt
If you haven't been to Caffe E, you haven't been eaten proper food or you haven't spoiled yourself! I say that because when I went there the food was absoulutly divine and the waitstaff were so kind and friendly! The best thing I thought was that I didn't even have to book, I just walked in and was seated instantly by a lovely waitress!
