This suburban Middle Eastern treasure is sure to delight with authentic food at reasonable prices. The decor is like an Arabic dream with Moroccan tiles, Middle Eastern light fittings and Persian rugs. The menu focuses on Lebanese food, with dishes such as authentic kibbe and lightly fried haloumi cheese. Chef Dahouk White creates weekly specials according to seasonal ingredients.

such a shame !
i have had great experiences at zum zums in the past. having not been there for a while i was very excited to organise dinner there for sunday night (2Aug) unfortunately the whole experience has left a sour taste in my mouth - one particular waitress was incredibly rude. all 4 of use felt completely unwelcome by the waitress who took our order and continued to make us feel uncompfortable throughout the course of the meal with her aire of callous efficiency - it was as if she just wanted us all to go home so that she could too. such a shame - because it really soured the atmosphere and the meal. it may take a while for me to regain my confidence again.

Check your Bill
Check your bill. Four of us enjoyed a meal, but were stunned to find that the bill was added up incorrectley, such that it was 25% more than it should have been.
This would have been excusable had they been apologetic, however, when the error was pointed out the them. The response could only be described as surly.

Yum yum Zum Zum!
This place has some seriously delicious treats! After arriving to an almost full restaurant without a booking at 7pm, our group was offered a table but we had to be out by 8pm. We were fine with this, as we were starving and wanted to eat quickly, and being a group of girls we planned to eat entrees only anyway. We ordered a range of dishes to share, and within - no joke - 10 seconds the dips and pitta bread came out! (the chef must be psychic). Like all dips and pitta put in front of hungry people it was divine! They also gave us extra bread without charging which i thought was nice... there's nothing more petty than a restaurant charging you 2 bucks for bread! Our four mains were some lamb filo thing, silverbeet rolls, chickpea salad and fried haloumi. They were all delectable... the lamb filo not so much but the others were absolutely divine..we could not stop eating! There definitely was no room left for dessert, but will definitely be coming again to try some more. Oh and by the way, we were out by 8pm and it was only 20% full when we left. We thought this strange, but went to have coffee down the road anyway. When we walked back there was even less people in there. We have no idea why they made us rush through our meals. In any case I would highly recommend! (Oh but if you live near by, get takeaway... it's less than half the price!)

Food OK, service not that great
Having been to this restaurant before with some friends a while back, my wife and I were looking forward to a lovely night out. What we got unfortunately was rather overpriced food and below average service. Eg not removing plates from entree when mains arrived, wine left on table, not poured. Attention to detail was lacking and smiles from staff were not there to greet us.

Excellent Middle Eastern fare
A lovely alternative to the norm - Zum Zum's food is delicious. They serve up clean, fresh dishes and lots of great vegetarian options. Personal favourite dishes are the cabbage rolls and chickpea salad. They get quite busy so you usually have to book ahead.
