to be avoided. many better restaurants in Darwin.
I fancied some pasta marinara for a solo dinner.

I ordered an entree pasta, with a side salad and a glass off pinot.

No, I was told, no entree sizes - full size pasta only. Why? As I only wanted a small helping, I asked if I could take the remainder home.

The pasta arrived and a what a disappointment. One prawn, 2 squid rings and a mussel in a shell on top.

At $26.00 for the pasta. The waitress bought a container to my table and indicated to me to scrape it in myself! So I did.

$45 for pasta, side salad and a glass of wine!
Many good restaurants in Darwin, but this is not one of them.

Lovely meal and service
My family travelled to Darwin 2 weeks ago and one of the places we dined at was Cafe Uno. Just lovely. Our order was taken in fairly fast time, the meal delivered to our table was lovely and the staff friendly.

I have eaten in many Brisbane, Sydney and Melbourne Cafes'/Restaurants and I would say Cafe Uno is right up there with many in the major cities. Some of the staff are probably better than a lot I have had to deal with in my city dining experiences. I will glady go back again when we are next in Darwin.

Worst pizza ever
The pizza served up to my husband and myself was the worst pizza I'd ever had and I felt it was an insult to be served such lazily prepared food. The pizza base looked and tasted like a supermarket bought base. It was limp and tasteless. The topping very scanty and for a "gourmet" pumpkin and chicken pizza, you required a magnifying glass to find some of the ingredients including the pumpkin. The pizza was also served just warm and the cheese was congealed and did not cover much of the pizza. It was a disgrace and I could not believe a restaurant would serve this tasteless apology for a pizza. It was also way overpriced.

Best breakfast
Do business trips to Darwin 5-6 times per year, this place rarely lets me down. Undoubtably the best breakfast for value in Darwin. Service has almost always been great, no other cafe can beat their coffees. The location is great for short business meetings and the best for a sit back and chill out after a stressful day. Have eaten many evenings there, the menu is very extensive and has a wine list to match. They seem to get very busy very fast and sometimes you have a long wait for your food but on most occasions it has been worth it.

Awful
I am a Darwin girl who has travelled and lived and worked as a chef locally, nationally and internationally and have been coming to this cafe on and off for 3.5 years. The food is consistently very small portion sizes and extremely overpriced. The coffee tastes as if they don t clean the machine; and the cocktails are watery. Previously the service has been excellent with some friendly, attentive staff but last night was abominable. Of the 30 tables there were 8 occupied, ours made the 9th with 5 staff on including the barman. After checking with wait-staff that it was OK to sit outside we were ignored by staff standing around chatting whilst we waited to have a drinks and meal order taken. When entering inside to enquire of the 3 staff chatting by the door wether we needed to come inside to give our order or table service was available. I was told it was table service and it wouldn t be long. Our order was (finally) taken by a waiter who was unable to look at us; my meal was incorrect and very small for the cost $16.90 for 4 centimetre squared cubes of feta, 5 olives, 3 1/4s of a tomato and Cos lettuce in a soup bowl. When paying my friend was ignored until she was told that she would be attended to in a few minutes - $29.00 for a soup bowl of salad, garlic bread and 1 glass of soda water. We went next door for our coffees where we have been several times before and for the same price have had very similar meals, except that they are tasty, clean, twice the size, delivered by smiling attentive staff that also provide water gratis.

Kids get stung
Had a good night here Good Friday, everyone enjoyed their food except the chicken breast was a bit tasteless. Maybe open range chicken is the answer. The only problem was even though their was a kids menu, the poor little buggers were stung $4.50 for a glass of lemonade each.
