Since its debut in mid-2009, this funky cafe has staked out its spot amid the popular Toorak Road wining, dining and coffee-sipping scene. Conveniently located opposite South Yarra train station, Cafe Republic keeps on track from its early breakfasts through to the late dinners every day. The cuisine is mainly modern Italian, so you can expect anything from homemade gnocchi to penne with an eggplant sauce. There's a mod-Oz element in there too, including an open steak sandwich, and it's good to keep your eyes peeled for the daily lunch specials as well.
