Like cruising along the cerulean waters of the Aegean Sea, a stroll into Cafe Mykonos reveals a warm and breezy environment augmented by that trademark earthy Grecian charm. Setting up shop on busy O'Connell Street (where Akasha used to be), this family-owned and operated North Adelaide eatery intertwines classic Greek cuisine with a zippy modern cafe vibe. Traditional ornate sculptures and urns pop up amidst the black table and chair sets, linking the decor to the food served. The meze menu offers classics like dolmades and saganaki, while the mains go from moussaka to yiros to more westernised fare such as the beer-battered South Australian King George whiting or the grilled snapper in lemon butter sauce. Chargrilled meat platters and gigantic seafood platters should fill up the most avid of feisty feasters.
