Grab a few mates and come for yum cha at Cafe Kowloon. The bustling restaurant attracts one and all for its sticky pork and scallop buns, ribs in black bean sauce and steamed dumplings. Go for an authentic experience and try the chicken feet (you'll be pleasantly surprised) or arrive for dinner and order off the well-presented a la carte menu.

Pretty good dimsum...
I headed down to Cafe Kowloon in my hunt for good dim sum to satisfy my craving on the weekend. The reviews online have been good...
I was not disappointed but also not overly impressed. The range of dim sums that came rolling out of the busy kitchen was enormous...and it ranges from the more popular staple-fare such as steamed prawn dumplings, siew mai (I have to comment that this tasted a little off)steamed rice rolls...to fried spring rolls, yam puffs and a strange-looking plate of fried something which looked like a bird nest and with a reddish sauce drizzled over it! (I didn't have it so I didn't know what it was...that said...I will ask when I'm there next...ahem! I am hinting at a second visit some time soon!)
Thumbs up for the salt & pepper fried squid tentacles...very tasty and one of the better ones I've tasted in a while. I also enjoyed the Coconut Pudding...IMO, a tad too sweet but I love the smooth texture. Reminds me of an old-time fave I had back home.
Kinda noisy but this is normal for a yum cha joint...
Will be back to try out the other dim sums on offer...

Lunch was amazing
The only way to totally enjoy the experience is to go with someone who speaks Chinese as it comes in so handy with the many trays of yummy food that passes by. Staff are charming and the food is plentiful. Bring large wads of cash and a huge appetite and join the many others who love to eat there. Can't wait to go back.

Great yum cha
The best yum cha in Adelaide, on Sundays people are lining up out the door! Despite the restaurant being packed the staff are always friendly and do their best to look after you. The food is so great that everytime you think you've had enough, another tasty morsel is presented to you. Great value too.

Yum cha
The yum cha here is really good. The service is good as well, no long breaks between serving people doing the rounds. The only complaint is the furnishings, they are all mismatched. It's quite a shabby place but the good food and price make up for this.

This is probably my favourite place to come for yum cha in Adelaide. Try the delicious salt and pepper squid, and definitely save room for custard tart with melt-in-your-mouth pastry and the yummy mango puddings with milk poured on top. The pace is frenetic - excellent people-watching place. Don't bother booking, although they try to honour reservations, the table turnover is quick and it's far easier to just turn up. Sunday brunch here is just great!
