Situated in the Rosella Complex (once the site of the famous food manufacturer), this Richmond cafe certainly lives up to its name: a roomy warehouse, with a modern, urban fitout. It's a weekday-only affair, with regulars flocking for their pre-work coffee or a lunchtime meeting. The menu is simple and mostly made up of pastas, sandwiches and salads, but the pizzas (including the pumpkin, ricotta, pinenuts and spinach) are a standout.
What could be just another cafe is set apart by a couple of added extras, showing just how well the owners know their clientele. The first is the "X-Press" lunch system, which allows customers to pre-order their midday meal, either for dining in or takeaway - perfect for the time-poor office worker. And for those or those days when cooking dinner is the last thing you want to do, simply call the cafe by 2pm and they'll have your choice of meal ready for collection at the end of the day.
