Cafe Domain has nabbed an enviable position in one of Melbourne's most distinguished locations. Directly opposite the Botanical Gardens, this large double-fronted cafe enjoys a naturally lush and tranquil ambience. The culinary offerings are rich and varied - a display cabinet hoards an enviable array of pastries, cakes, savoury wraps, and focaccias, while the specials board chalks up an ever-changing selection of salads and soups. The coffee is creamy, the juices are fresh, and there is an extensive wine list. With wicker chairs spread out on to the footpath and a well-stocked magazine rack, this is a popular breakfast destination and is always crowded with business types and feasting local families. It also boasts computers, but it is no 'net cafe. Though more casual than the neighbouring Botanical, it is still a classy establishment, so be prepared for aesthetically evaluative glances from fellow patrons and staff.

Tired salad
Had early lunch on a beautiful day. Absolutley lovely staff but food very disappointing. I had Calamari and Salad - calamari tasted like flour and salad was very tired - didnt look as though it had been washed and not really a salad just rocket thrown together with a few little strips of capsicum. My partner had Rogan Josh - floating on top was grease/fat. Very disappointing

Cheers
Excellent service. The young lad (I think he's the supervisor) is very professional and polite and always greets us with a big smile, as do all the staff, very welcoming. The food is fantastic and the coffee and cake is divine. See you all again soon.
