Cafe del Pescatore

Owner Nick Fiore has given his oceanside restaurant on Scarborough's Esplanade a jaunty nautical theme. Fishing nets are draped from the ceiling, lobster pots don the walls, ship wheels hang from doors and there's even a caged ornamental parrot. But Nick is quite serious when it comes to sourcing his produce. Garden Island mussels are brought in fresh daily, as are the oysters; while local crayfish, Shark Bay crabs and North West squid are delivered twice a week for the popular seafood platter and equally delectable fishy dishes. He also imports fine chocolates from Italy, has scoured WA's wine producing regions for the best vinos and added a handful of Victorian, SA and NZ labels for good measure. There are no barrels of rum down in his cellar, but you could get merry on a Pescatore's beach cocktail or two.

Must Go
After hearing so much about this seafood restaurant me and my partner had to go try it out, so we did.On entering the restaurant was greeted by a lovely young girl that showed us to our seat. Not long after a another lady came over to take order, she recommended the oyster plate to start, was a great selection of different fresh oysters! Yum!! then for main my partner had the scallops which were cooked just right I had the seafood salad: ladies its a must!!! It was GREAT! We will definitely be coming back thanks to all the wait staff, you were all very friendly and fast

Worst meal ever
Having already been here for dinner two years ago and getting the most flavourless boring overpriced steaks - we decided to give it another go, thinking that things might have improved two years later. We were very wrong.
Oysters Kilpatrick - not nice. Cold with only BBQ sauce and bacon - bacon pieces were mostly bacon fat.
Mains -
Lamb Rack - boring.
Fish Of The Day - Barramundi - mushy / tasted like it had been frozen - did not come with sauce that was stated on specials board - nothing like it. Didn't even eat it. Came with potatoes instead of eggplant.
All in all I would not recommend this place to anybody. We had to wait 1.5 hours for our mains, nobody in the restaurant was impressed and could hear whispers from other tables about how disappointed they were with their meals.
Overpriced bad food.

Without doubt, the worst spaghetti marinara ever encountered.
To be fair, the entrees were magnificent however the entire meal was destroyed when the marinara arrived. It consisted of an ample bowl full of pasta swimming in a tomato flavoured sauce with 6 mussels in the shell sitting on top. There was no other seafood on the plate or in the sauce. What made the whole experience worse was when I complained, the so-called manager wanted to argue the point with me. Never again. Stay away.

Fantastic!
I went here with a group of friends for dinner on new years eve, it was fantastic.
The food was amazing, I had garlic bread to start which had so much flavour. For mains I had creamy garlic prawns with rice, it was perfect. The right portion size, beautiful flavours, I loved it.
And the service we had was great, the wait people were constantly smiling and happy to help!
Definitely be back!
