How wonderful it must be to live in Macau, at least from a culinary perspective. Colonised by the Portuguese, but a region already steeped in Cantonese tradition, the food on Macau is a beautiful mix of both cultures.
Diners here can find a veritable treasure chest of classic Chinese fare intermingled with some truly inspirational Portuguese touches. Thankfully, the modern, bright and airy dining space of Cafe de Macau gives Sydneysiders a chance to dine in comfort while experiencing a melange of flavours. A word of warning however: leaving here without trying one of the Portuguese custard tarts, freshly baked on the premises every day, may prove achingly disappointing.
