Pizza and pasta are two foods you don't need a magnifying glass to find on Lygon Street. The restaurants and cafes of Melbourne's Little Italy are loud and proud about the greatest culinary exports of Italian cuisine, and rightly so. Cafe Corretto is one of the strip's better-known Italian mainstays, touting itself to be a "pizza restaurant" on its neon street sign, although pizza is just the tip of the iceberg on this thoroughly Italian menu.
Many rejoice in the fact that the pastas, which include spaghetti, fettucine and gnocchi, are handmade on the premises, giving them that authentic light touch. Adding to that, Corretto offer veal, steak, chicken, fish and omelette delicacies that follow the traditional brief. It's no wonder this lively eatery continues to thrive on the northern end of Lygon Street.
