Bringing true Armenian cuisine to suburban Melbourne, Cafe Armenia is a culinary adventure for those who are not yet accustomed to the tasty treats of Armenian culture. For an entree, you could go for a meaty start with the basturma, a sun-dried, fine-sliced spicy beef dish; or perhaps get a bit fishy with smoked rainbow trout. The real barnstormers are the soups and barbecue dishes, like the piti - a lamb, chickpea and potato soup in a special sauce; and the pork, lamb and chicken dishes offered on and off the bone. A nice touch is the inclusion of Armenian wines and spirits to complete the experience.
