Restaurant Information
C Blu
Located just metres from the white sands of Cottesloe Beach, the sound of the surf, the fresh sea air and the picture-perfect sunsets aren't the only things to appeal to the senses at C Blu. The white walls, tastefully lit by blue neon strip lights give the space at C Blu a sophisticated yet serene quality, while soothing sounds float from the two water features in the centre of the room. Huge windows, flung wide open in the warmer months, optimise the views of the Indian Ocean. Cushioned leatherette booths are an excuse to lounge a while and the award-winning wine list is packed with affordable WA wines. The menu offers a finger-licking assortment of breakfasts, light lunches, steaks, seafood, salads and pizzas. The beachside locale may inspire you to plump for something fishy and the baby calamari comes highly recommended by the C Blu team - they're seasoned, lightly fried and served with a soy lime dipping sauce; or go the whole halibut and try the C-Blu seafood bowl. To finish, share a large glass of Dom Pedro while you drink in the expansive ocean view.

Steer clear!
A very disappointing night out! You'd do best to steer well clear of this place!
Our entree's, bruschetta and garlic bread, priced as though they should be something special, weren't! They were cold, greasy and tasteless.
My partner's seafood marinara, 'Excuse me, where's the seafood?!', arrived without cutlery - we had to grab it from an adjacent table (waitpersons had disappeared). My 'Rack of lamb', from the specials list, turned out to be 3 very small lamb cultets in a stone-cold sauce. I sent it back to be re-heated but in hindsight I should have sent the lot back and demanded an actual 'Rack of Lamb'.
The much vaunted view was somewhat ruined by a girl, from the pub next door, throwing up on the pavement below.
The service received was woeful, the food we ate was of an inadequate portion and very poorly prepared - especially when you equate it with the bill! Needless to say there is no way on earth I would visit this place ever again and I'll be advising anyone not to make the mistake we did.
I wish we'd have had fish and chips on the beach.

Slap up breakfast
I rang in the new year in Cottesloe this year. On NYE, my partner and I enjoyed a beautiful meal at the Blue Duck, and stayed the night at the OBH. In the morning, we went next door to finish off our stay, with breakfast at C Blu. On arrival, we were not greeted promptly by a waitperson, and were left standing at the till for quite some time. Finally someone came to seat us. We could hear the table next to us complaining - as two of their meals had not arrived, and by the looks of things, the rest of the table had finished their meals. This wasn't a good sign!
A woman from the table next door asked the waiter to cancel the two outstanding orders, which the waiter agreed to, and the rest of the table went up to the till to settle the bill. As they went to do this, the two outstanding meals arrived. Hmmm. Back to my experience. Our orders were taken quite quickly, which was great. We were served our orange juices and glasses of water promptly too.
Breakfast arrived about 20 minutes later, which was fine with me. The waitress held our plates with teatowels, as they were extremely hot. I could see that our meals had been waiting on the warmer for some time - obviously, as the plate was scorching. But the food had suffered also. My wilted spinach just looked like wet seaweed. And I couldn't help but notice, we had both been given crossaints with our full cooked breakfasts, when the menu indicated toast would be served with the meal. It would be nice if the waitstaff let us know about this change in the menu. I figure if you're a chef who can't cook eggs properly, there is a bit of a problem. I certainly won't be going back to C Blu for another meal again, as my scrambled eggs were like eating rubber. Just horrible. No flavour either.
Speaking of flavour, I noticed that none of the tables had salt or pepper on them, how strange!! I tried to get one of the waiters' attention so that they could bring us some salt and pepper, but the three staff working on the floor were visibly stressed out, and almost running from table to table, which is a little strange since the restaurant was almost empty. In the end, I went in search for salt and pepper myself. I found some eventually. But it just seems too bizarre that a lovely looking restuarant like C Blu wouldn't supply each table with salt and pepper?! All in all, for a very simple meal to put together, it was dreadful. I would have let our waitperson know this, but they didn't even ask us if we enjoyed our meal - our money was yanked away from us and that was that. So thanks for having me C Blu - what a disappointing start to the new year!
