Service no good
We waited over a one hour for the main meals to come out. We were never asked if we would like dessert (after a 1 1/2 hour wait) so we decided to have dessert at a different restaurant. It then took 20 minutes to pay the bill. It looks like they did not want the business. The restaurant was not busy.

Service not good
We went there for brunch as their website looks up market. A waiter (he was the only waiter) sat us down and we were given no menus or water to start with. We had to waive at the waiter to remind him for the menus. When we ordered our coffee, we asked for extra hot. However only one of the coffee met our request. The meals did not take long to arrive and they were delicious. Funnily the waiter did not give us any water until we nearly finished our meal. The bistro wasn't busy and we could not figure out why the service was poor. While the service was not up to the standard, I have to say that our meals were very nice.

Simply the best resturant I have ever been to
My partner and I went to Butter Bistro last night not 100% sure on what to expect. We have learnt not to simply judge a venue based on appearances. While the look of this resturant was extremly appealing we have certainly been let down before at other establishments that have looked impressive. The service from the outset was nothing short of perfect. It was warming and welcoming from the moment we walked in. Everything that we ordered was served with perfect timing. Not too quickly not too slowly. The entree we ordered was scallops in the shell - the taste blew me away. We ordered veal and fillet mignon for mains and I can admit that this was quite simply the best main meal that I have ever eaten at any resturant. The mixture of flavours was something I haven't experienced before. We eat out at least 3 times a week so this is something quite extrodinary. The staff made us feel as though we were regular friends of theirs and you could see the same with other patrons in the resturant. This resturant has certainly impressed us and we will most definitly be going back again. Whatever you are doing at Butter Bistro, keep it up. Amazing. I can not fault anything.

Don't go here for brunch
I was meeting a girlfriend for brunch and googled 'brunch kangaroo point' and the Butter Bistro is what came up in the results. By all outward appearances this place looked good on its website. So I booked online (they responded quite promptly) and looked forward to dining there. What a mistake! The bacon and eggs (well actually all meals on the menu) are very overpriced for what you get. We all know that it doesn't take much to throw one piece of bacon and an egg on a plate. We all also know that it shouldn't cost $18 for such a simple meal. Mushrooms and any other extras were slugged at you at a cost of $4 per extra. All up making a super expensive simple meal. No salt or cracked pepper anywhere in sight. Had to ask for this - much to our frustration. By the time the salt and pepper returned our meals were already getting cold! When our coffees ran out no one came and asked if we wanted another one. We had to ask to have our plates cleared away and every time after that which we required a new coffee or drink we had to wave the waiter down. It was fairly quiet there on this particular morning so I don't know why the service stank so much.

Lacked Sophistication
My husband and I went for a meal at Butter Bistro and were not impressed by either the menu, or the presentation of the food. My husband had the lamb cutlets, which admittedly were very tasty, however they were served with a cold potato salad and some salad greens. Not what you would expect from a sophisticated restaurant. I had the Atlantic salmon which was also very tasty, however it was served with a similar potato dish and snow peas and carrots, something I would expect served with a meal at my local pub. To top it off it took us almost 30 minutes to get the bill at the end of the night, so all in all a very average night.
