The name of this dark toned Potts Point establishment is directly traceable back to Buddha. By all accounts it is derived from one of the bones left by the man himself before he ascended to Nirvana. This relic in particular had a degree of influence on medieval Japan, so the association is not as vague as it may first appear.
Most of the traditional Japanese gastronomical basses are covered here. Tempura, sushi and sashimi are all represented on the simply elegant menu. The service here can slow down a little on busier nights but the atmosphere and price more than make up for it.
In the past the eatery has been known to attract an A-Grade celebrity or two, but most who flock there do so for the food and atmosphere rather than the potential of a bit of stargazing.
