The cool and refined interior coupled with glam patrons make the Austral hard to beat on a Friday or Saturday evening in Adelaide. The bar section of the Austral has long been a favourite for its live music scene but the restaurant rates a visit in itself. It boasts some excellent local fare at very reasonable prices, such as the Cleland Gully veal scaloppini or the confit of chilli duck. A group of us went to Bunka for a friend's birthday celebration, excited to try out a new Adelaide eatery, but were very disappointed. The service was slow, the wine was warm and the food was cold. If you want a pub food at high prices, Bunka is your place!
