With its bamboo and rattan decor and warm lighting, Bungalow 8 evokes the relaxed vibe of a premium island resort. While the water views are more semi-industrial harbour than white-sand beaches, there is still something pretty special about the way the sun sparkles off the water, making this bar equal parts Pacific retreat and quintessential Sydney. The menu includes a couple of poultry dishes and a steak for diehard meat-eaters, but the main emphasis is on seafood, from basic fish and chips to Asian-style barramundi or whole baby snapper. The highlight has to be the mussels, done five different ways and served in a Belgian kilo pot. Tuesday is all-you-can-eat mussel day, where for only $21.50 you can gratuitously indulge in these tasty morsels.
