Buffalo Club

Specialising in dynamic degustations in the mod-Oz arena, the Buffalo Club has made a considerable impact on the local dining scene in Fortitude Valley on account of its style, verve and exactitude. The open kitchen allows diners a chance to watch the chefs in action as they conjure up new sensations with deft ability. The menu changes so often that you might find foie gras, beef cheek or Kennebec potato chips on any given day amid many other selections from the nine-course and 16-course degustation menus. Matching wines are also available for diners, and the upstairs Sky Room bar is a great post-meal chill-out drinking spot.

Great - But can be outstanding!
I went here with great things in mind and I wasn't disappointed.

Food was great, although some dishes were a bit heavy on the salt. Was good to see sweetbread on the menu as well.

The staff knew their product, but were a bit sullen, as is the atmosphere in such a place like this.

I am going back again soon and cannot wait to see how it is second time round.

Disappointing
My friends and I went there last night and were disappointed to say the least. The wait staff had attitude. The meals, although tasty, were very small and overpriced. For $200 each we walked out hungry and disappointed. We will not be recommending The Buffalo Club to others.

An Absolute Must
The thing that stood out most was the absolute attention to detail in every aspect. From the presentation to the flavours and textures, everything that was there served a purposed and added to the enjoyment of the course.

Lovely layout and feel - we really enjoyed th whole experience and will be back again. This place is something you should definately treat yourself too!

One of the World's Best
Our booking was for 8PM and we arrived a couple of minutes early. A charming woman at the street level greeted us by name--then added "don't worry, I'm not psychic...you're just the last booking tonight". She then took us upstairs in the lift and dropped us at our table with a cheery "Enjoy yourselves". We certainly did!

The chef at the Buffalo Club has trained at some of the world's best (literally) restaurants and it's clear that he was a good study. The food--I had the full tasting menu while my wife was more restrained and had the nine course version--was, without exception, superb. Some of the combinations were suprising, even startling, but they all exploded with fresh flavours and amazed at the tour de force preparation and cooking skills.

I can't recommend this restaurant more highly. It deserves to join the exclusive list of the best restaurants in the world.

Loved it
My husband and I had the 16 course option but chose our own wine. Every plate was an adventure but the foie gras was truly sublime.

A tip - choose to get there early. We arrived at 6.30 and had the entire dining room (and staff) to ourselves for the first hour.

While I loved this place, I fear that unless they branch out into a la carte the restaurant won't be a long term proposition.

come for the amazing food
Finally a restaurant in Brisbane which gives Melbourne and Sydney fine dining a run for its money! The plating and flavours rival Vue de Monde in Melbourne. The dining room is a bit bland though and could do with some sound deadening - hate shouting to be heard at dinner.
